Travis was born and raised in Brooksville, Florida. Music has been a major influence in his life from childhood. Growing up in his home, music was always playing from somewhere. From the mournful sounds of David Houston and Tammy Wynette in one room, to the soulful sounds of The Temptations and Bobby Vinton in another, he was well versed by the time he left home. As a matter of fact, to this day, his parents' license plate still reads "He's Country And She's A Little Bit Rock And Roll." He has taken the country route......"It's my passion and my love." "I'll take the dirt road, it's all I know."
I grew up in a musical family with 2 brothers and a sister. With guitar, bass, piano, and drums available we would jump on whatever was available at the time. lol At age 6 I started playing drums at church and continued until I was 18. But during that time I found a love for guitar. Peter Frampton came out with his Live album, and Dave Gilmore on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon Album just sent me to another world. When I hear those guitar solos sometimes it overwhelms me, I can't explain it any other way. After school I played the Hotel Lounge Circut (lounge lizard) for several years and then settled back home to South Carolina Upstate. As a player I've got to play or open up for Countless County Music Stars. As a recording engineer, I've got 10 years of albums on my resume. As a producer/song writer I have 2 releases that went to number 1 on the Indie Charts.
I've been with Rebel Soul only since Fall of 2020. I love being in this band. The players are excellent but with no ego or attitude. We all love making good music and watching the reaction of the audience. The fans that follow Rebel Soul are awesome as well, and they are what makes it all worth while.
Guitar influences: Scotty Moore, James Burton, George Harrison, Paul McCartney (a lot of the Beatles solos was him and not George) Dave Gilmore, Peter Frampton, Eddie Van Halen, Neil Schon, Matthias Jabs, Paul Gilbert, Zakk Wylde, Brent Mason, Vince Gill, Marty Stewart and Brad Paisley.
Michael “ Mikey” Calabrese
Mikey started his pro career in the R&B group Filet of Soul. The group opened for Sly and the Family Stone and was signed to the Mercury Records label, where they recorded two singles.
In the mid-70s, Mikey moved to Miami, Florida, and played in several funk bands before moving to central Florida. There he played with several southern rock and country bands, including Southern Comfort, Southern Branded, and Jeniffer Lee and Neveah Peek, before becoming a proud member of Rebel Soul.
